Anaesthetist and Pain Management Consultant

Post-Surgical

Persistant Pain

Sometimes pain can persist after period of normal healing after surgery, usually thought to be 3 months. This could be due to nerve damage either during the surgery itself or due to scar formation as a part of the healing process.

Sometimes further surgery to correct the problem may not help or be the recommended course. We may be able to help with local treatments, appropriate medications or steroid injections to calm the area to manage symptoms.
